Title: Introduction to Ayurvedic Practice for Naturopathic Doctors
Speakers: Dr. Dana Lerman and Dr. Sairupa Krishnamurti

In this introductory class, Dr. Dana Lerman and Dr. Sairupa Krishnamurti provide a detailed overview of Ayurvedic Medicine and how it can be applied to Naturopathic practice. The class will provide background into the history and main theory of Ayurveda, a detailed explanation of constitutional analysis and Ayurvedic diagnosis/assessment and how it can easily be implemented into Naturopathic Practice. This course will offer insightful methodology on how to use botanicals and nutritional approaches in a preventative manner for the individualized care of patients with common conditions including anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, and constipation. This lecture begins the three-part series on Ayurvedic Medicine for Naturopathic Doctors.


Learning objectives:

  1.  Provide background into the history and the main theory of Ayurveda
  2.  Explanation of how constitutional analysis, Ayurvedic diagnosis/assessment can be implemented into Naturopathic Practice.
  3. Discuss case studies of that demonstrate the use of Ayurvedic botanicals and nutritional approaches in a preventative manner for the individualized care of patients with common conditions including anxiety, irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, and constipation.
