Title: The Microbiome and Pediatric Health

This lecture provides an overview of state of current research findings on microbiome and pediatric health as well as an overview of research on use of probiotics and prebiotics in the prevention and treatment of common primary health concerns. The presenter also discusses case studies, including practical implementation of healing gut microbiome.


Learning objectives:

  • Understand the current research findings on gut microbiome on a range of disease states
  • Discuss specific strains of probiotics in terms of disease states.
  • Learn strategies to establish & maintain healthy gut microflora in childhood to prevent &  treat disease.
  • Discuss the appropriate use of antibiotics as well as how to mitigate their impact on gut microbiome.
