Title: Cultural Competency; Providing Effective Naturopathic Care to Diverse Populations
Speaker: Dr. Cyndi Gilbert ND
In this lecture Dr. Gilbert provides an in-depth discussion regarding the rationale for developing ND cultural competency. This lecture will review the specific terms and definitions of inclusion and discrimination, the research on experiences of discrimination in healthcare, and the legal obligations and ethical responsibilities. Dr. Gilbert directly refers to the Code of Ethics, Ontario Human Rights Code to inform the guidelines that Naturopathic Doctors should follow as a member of the RHPA.
