This lecture will introduce the terms dissonance and resonance within the context of mental health and describe how these variations in self-perception have implications in mental health and mood disorders.  Dr. Ragbir focuses his discussion on mindfulness for clinical practice and it’s application for mental health and mood disorders.

Learning objectives:

  1. Provide a detailed explanation as to how social and emotional “dissonance” has physiological implications in mental health and mood disorders
  2. Demonstrate how evidence based mindfulness techniques can help to turn dissonance into resonance and address the main clinical features anxiety and depression
